Wight Christmas is part one of Kitty’s Christmas Collection. Set on the Isle of Wight, in December 1988, it features the characters from the novel, Kitty Murphy’s Ticket to Paradise.
When Kitty and Liam arrive at Sea View Paradise Holiday Park on the Isle of Wight, hoping to relax and unwind, they never imagined their two week holiday would turn into a long term stay.
Kitty is full of festive spirit. She loves everything about the season, the parties, mulled wine, mince pies, and mistletoe. She even likes turkey. Nothing can dampen her enthusiasm for it, not even a sprinkling of drama between partners old and new.
However, the countdown to Christmas is not going smoothly, and their Yuletide plans are put in jeopardy when out of the blue, an unfortunate accident occurs.
Then things go from bad to worse, when a blizzard threatens to trap them on the island, with unexpected guests. Being snowed in could either turn out to be frightful or delightful. Will their winter wonderland be sugar and spice and all things nice or tinsel, tears and tantrums?

Wight Christmas is an enjoyable festive read about a couple at a holiday park on the Isle of Wight.

This was a great novella with a combination of happy, funny, nostalgic and exciting moments. There were a couple of interesting characters too.

I loved that it was set in 1988, as I was ten years old then, and there’s nothing more festive than the nostalgia of one’s own childhood. Every reference to something that took me back to my childhood years, brought a smile to my face, whether it was the name of shops, singers, actors, or an item, such as a cassette player. I was a huge Shakin’ Stevens fan (I still am), so having him mentioned made my day.

Being half Irish myself, I’ve discovered it’s impossible to read “Jesus, Mary and Joseph” without an Irish accent, even if it is just in my thoughts.

I recommend this to anyone who fancies an entertaining feel good festive read with a little bit of romance and shenanigans.

Wight Christmas Kitty Christmas Collection Part One Kitty Murphy Ticket to Paradise Book 2 edition by Stephanie Harte Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Lovely Christmas read set in the beautiful isle of white. Wonderful story set in the 80's back in the days of smash hits magazine. Easy short story to read to get you in the Xmas spirit. Looking forward to the next chapter.
A lovely novella about Kitty and her partner Rob. My favourite parts were the trips back to yesteryear as the book is set in the 80s; the days of my youth. So lovely to read again, all the celebs, music and clothing (ra-ra skirts and frilly blouses!) from those fabulous times. An easy read, but I wanted a little more when Kitty finally came face to face with her blast from the past.
A fantastic Christmas read with great characters. I loved Kitty, Liam & Doris & I am looking forward to reading the next instalment! I thought it was great that it was set in the 80s & loved all the references to the 80s. Thanks to TBC for the review copy.
I would like to thank Tracy at TBC and Stephanie Harte for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest and open review.
This book was a far cry from my usual diet of blood and guts but I loved it.
Stephanie has captured the essence of the 1980's perfectly, especially with the clothing. Did we really wear that kind of thing?
The description of the Nativity play set me off giggling. As a former teacher of children with special needs I could visualise the whole thing.
If you're looking for a Christmas book with the feel good factor then this is for you.
